Online Learning

There are many online resources teachers use to benefit their students. A source that we use, at Jill Abrams tutoring, that is great for all ages is IXL. This resource covers all subject areas, as well as all grades and is easy to navigate. If there is a particular skill your child is struggling with, such as context clues, you can search the topic in the search bar and the skill will appear or similar skills will be highlighted. Throughout the lesson, if a child gets the answer wrong there will be a detailed explanation and example as to why it is wrong, the student and I will discuss and practice some more examples and then continue with the lesson. When a child has completed the lesson, they will earn rewards and after reaching certain milestones there is even a printable certificate to celebrate the child’s achievements. IXL is an amazing resource and the students enjoying learning as well as using the computer throughout the lesson.
