Study Skills
At Jill Abrams Tutoring, Inc., we use a holistic, comprehensive approach to help our students succeed in every area. We're here to help with all things reading, writing, math, and more - and we want to make sure that our students and their families are empowered to enhancing their learning at home! Here are some study strategies that can help your kids with their work, whether they're preparing for an exam or finishing their homework.
Get Organized: Start by organizing your study materials and creating a schedule to keep track of assignments and deadlines. Use a planner to record upcoming due dates. Keep papers in binders or folders where they can be easily found.
Try Different Styles: Mix it up! Try visual aids, flashcards, or teaching the material to someone else to reinforce learning.
Study Space: Create a quiet, clutter-free area where you can focus without distractions.
Practice Active Recall: Engage your brain by testing yourself on the material instead of just passively re-reading notes.
Ask for Help: Don't hesitate to reach out to teachers, classmates, or the tutors at Jill Abrams Tutoring, Inc. for clarification or support. Asking questions is a sign of strength!
